Agriculture Minister meets WB delegation

Minister of Environment and Agriculture, David Songulashvili, met with members of the World Bank delegation, led by Rolande Pryce, the Regional Director of the World Bank for the South Caucasus.

During the meeting at the Ministry, the parties discussed the “Georgia Resilient Agriculture, Irrigation, and Land Project (GRAIL).”

Minister Songulashvili expressed gratitude to the World Bank for its years of successful cooperation and emphasized the significance of land reclamation infrastructure projects in the development of agriculture. The discussion focused on GRAIL’s components, including the development of land reclamation infrastructure, agricultural support, grant programs, strengthening the Rural Development Agency, and land consolidation efforts.

Rolande Pryce highlighted Georgia’s favourable conditions for the timely and effective implementation of ongoing projects. She also expressed the World Bank’s commitment to continued cooperation with Georgia.
