Finance Minister: WB reaffirms support for Georgia’s reforms and infrastructure financing

The World Bank has confirmed its continued support for Georgia in both reforms and the financing of infrastructure projects, said Georgian Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili.

According to the minister, discussions during meetings with the World Bank Managing Director and Vice President focused on several priority areas for the country.

Khutsishvili noted that Georgia stands out both regionally and globally in terms of reforms and economic development.

“According to forecasts over the past five years, Georgia has been the fastest-growing economy. We discussed specific infrastructure projects financed by the World Bank, as well as future initiatives in which the institution will be actively involved. These include road and railway infrastructure, water systems, and other priority projects aligned with our national development goals.

The World Bank remains one of the largest investors in Georgia, having invested more than five billion dollars,” the Finance Minister said.

He added that the World Bank continues to play an active role in supporting and investing in the Georgian economy.
