Georgia’s Deputy Minister of Health meets with WB representative to discuss social protection programme
A meeting was held at the Ministry of Health with Roberto Claudio Sorman, the World Bank representative.
Deputy Minister of Health of Georgia, Irine Tsakadze, met with Sorman to discuss the progress of projects under the ‘Human Capital’ programme and explore avenues for future cooperation.
According to the Ministry of Health’s press service, the programme’s primary aim is to strengthen the social protection system and improve access to quality services for the population.
Deputy Minister Tsakadze stated that the first phase of the programme aims to simplify the process of applying for registration in the unified database of socially vulnerable families.
In particular, from July 1, socially vulnerable families will be able to submit applications online via an electronic system.
The new platform will also be available in Armenian and Azerbaijani. Furthermore, the assessment period for the subsistence allowance eligibility will be shortened to 60 days starting from 1 July, allowing families to receive financial support more quickly.
The Human Capital Programme, financed by the World Bank, encompasses health, education, and social protection. It has been ongoing since June 2022 and is scheduled to continue until 2028.
