Strasbourg Court to announce verdict into case of Georgian citizens deported from Russia on January 31

The Grand Chamber of the European Court of Human Rights will announce the verdict into the case of Georgian citizens deported from Russia on January 31 – Georgian Ministry of Justice reports.

According to Justice Ministry, the Strasbourg Court will decide the issue of paying the compensation by Russia to Georgian citizens, who became victims of mass deportation from the territory of the Russian Federation and harsh violation of human rights back in 2006.

Discussions about launch of the enforcement procedure will then continue at the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe (CoE).
