Parliament Speaker offers all opposition groups have one representative for Ukraine visit

Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili briefed the MPs about his conversation with Ukrainian counterpart Ruslan Stefanchuk at a bureau sitting on Thursday.

According to Papuashvili, he had a friendly and warm conversation with his Ukrainian colleague, and the visit to Ukraine will most likely take place in the coming days.

“I talked with the Chairman of Ukrainian Rada on many issues. We had a friendly and warm conversation. He confirmed his invitation for us to visit Ukraine and express our solidarity with the Ukrainian people there. This visit will most likely take place in the coming days.

I wish for my delegation to be multi-party. Yesterday we talked with representatives of the opposition, I had an offer to have an equal number of representatives, but we failed to reach an agreement. Then we offered each political group to have one representative. The opposition will be in the majority, and I think this offer is correct,” said Papuashvili.

The ruling party and the opposition failed to agree on the composition of the delegation on April 13.
