Georgian Parliament Speaker delivers speech at China Foreign Affairs University

Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili delivered a speech at China Foreign Affairs University (CFAU).

Located in Beijing, CFAU is affiliated with the Chinese Foreign Affairs Ministry and is known as the “cradle of Chinese diplomats.” It offers programs in diplomacy, international relations and international law.

In his speech, Shalva Papuashvili emphasized the significance of the Georgian parliamentary delegation’s first visit to China and the growing strategic partnership between Georgia and China. He noted that Georgia represents an “island of peace and development” amid global transformational processes and a turbulent environment.

The Speaker spoke about the Georgian government’s policies oriented on defending national interests and sovereignty. He focused on Georgia’s strategic geographical location and connectivity potential.

The meeting was held as part of Shalva Papuashvili’s official visit to China.

Along with the Speaker, First Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Head of the Georgia-China Parliamentary Friendship Group, Giorgi Volski, and the Chairman of the Parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee, Nikoloz Samkharadze, delivered speeches.
