Georgian First Channel awarded Best Documentary and Short Film at Tbilisi Film Festival

Georgian First Channel awarded Best Documentary  “Before Father Gets Back” directed by Mari Gulbiani and the Best Short Film “Fatherland” by Giorgi Sikharulidze at the awards ceremony of the 20th Tbilisi International Film Festival.

Georgian First Channel allocated GEL 20,000 for each film. The winners were awarded by  Vasil Maghlaperidze, Director General of Georgian First Channel.

“The Georgian First Channel is one of the important supporters of the Georgian film, in particular, the production that the Georgian audience should see. Today, we awarded a short film and a documentary. We not only established a prize but also allocated a kind of incentive in the amount of twenty thousand GEL for each film. The amount will be invested in films that winners will make for the next year. We will also help them with technical capabilities”,  – Vasil Maghlaperidze said.

The award ceremony of the 20th Tbilisi International Film Festival took place at the Amirani Cinema. The main award of the festival “Golden Prometheus” went to the films in the following categories: Best Feature Film – “Inhale-Exhale” directed by Dito Tsintsadze; Best Documentary – “Before Father Gets Back” directed by Mari Gulbani and the Best Short Film “Fatherland” directed by Giorgi Sikharulidze.
