President of Kyrgyzstan views Georgian PM's first official visit to Kyrgyzstan as a historic event; Georgia is an important partner of Kyrgyzstan

“I would like to express my gratitude for Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze’s accepting my invitation and his first official visit to the Republic of Kyrgyzstan. This is a historical event,” said President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov during the joint briefing with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.

According to the President of Kyrgyzstan, Georgia-Kyrgyzstan relations are based on mutual trust, long cooperation, and preserving political dialogue is significant.

“Georgia is a significant partner of Kyrgyzstan, while our relations are based on mutual trust and long cooperation. We believe that Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze’s first official visit to the Republic of Kyrgyzstan is a historical event. Indeed, in the 34-year history of Kyrgyz-Georgian diplomatic relations, this is the first official visit to Kyrgyzstan by our Georgian friends at such a high level. Today’s negotiations were held in an open, friendly and constructive atmosphere.

We comprehensively reviewed significant issues on the bilateral agenda, such as political dialogue, trade-economic relations, investment and branch cooperation and the development of cultural and humanitarian ties. Political relations between our states have been strong based on trust, and this is a truly solid foundation for cooperation in all areas. In this context, we underline that preserving regular political dialogue is significant, deepening inter-government and inter-parliamentary contacts as well as expanding consultations between our foreign ministries,” he said.
