European Georgia: Early elections or plebiscite to be solution to crisis

“The early elections or plebiscite is the only solution to the crisis,” one of the European Georgia party leaders said. Giga Bokeria made this statement in response to the ruling team’s initiative for the upcoming local elections.

He explained that the release of political prisoners and the amendment of the election administration is needed.

“We constantly say that the elections were rigged mainly through ballot stuffing, so-called voting carousels, and voter intimidation. There is no other instrument than a snap election,” the leader of the European Georgia said.

“The main is not the rules written on paper or the introduction of new ones, but to observe these rules and uphold the law”, Bokeria added.

Irakli Kobakhidze, Executive Secretary of the ruling Georgian Dream party, announced the governmental plan to introduce electronic technologies for local self-government elections.
