Zurab Japaridze may presumably not be able to be registered as presidential candidate of “Girchi” Party.

As Japaridze stated, he had been told in Central Election Commission (CEC) that presidential candidates of only those parties, which were registered during the previous elections, had to right to be registered as presidential candidates.

“I will be registered as presidential candidate in all cases. However, the main question is whether I will be a representative of “Girchi” Party or I will have to undergo registration as a candidate of an initiative group,” Japaridze stated. He said that he would verify the issue with CEC.
