Speaker: Strong backing from Italian and Luxembourgish counterparts on EU relations
The Georgian Parliament Speaker, Shalva Papuashvili, met with his counterparts from Italy and Luxembourg during his visit to Hungary.
According to Papuashvili, the discussions focused on current political developments and Georgia’s relations with the European Union.
“We had a very friendly meeting with the Speaker of the Italian Parliament, whom I had also met during my visit to Italy. Our colleagues expressed strong support for Georgia. We discussed ongoing political issues and EU-Georgia relations. The Speaker of the Italian Parliament reaffirmed his full support, emphasising our shared goal of strengthening parliamentary ties to enhance Georgia-EU relations further. In this regard, we received unequivocal backing,” Papuashvili stated.
Shalva Papuashvili is currently visiting Budapest, where he is participating in the Conference of Parliamentary Speakers from EU member and partner countries.
