PM: Government continues to communicate with Trump Administration, U.S. Department of State; Hope this communication will bring tangible results
“The Georgian government continues to communicate with the Trump Administration, executive authorities and the U.S. Department of State, and we hope that this communication will bring tangible results,” said Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze during the briefing.
According to the PM, the result should be the restoration of the Georgia-U.S. strategic partnership.
“We are optimistic that the Georgia-U.S. strategic partnership will be restored. Joe Wilson is an unserious man, and I would not waste my time speaking about him. He calls Georgia pro-Iranian, pro-Chinese. He previously called Georgia pro-Russian, and now we have become pro-Iranian. How can an individual making such statements be perceived seriously? He will call the Georgian government pro-Cambodian tomorrow. I have not seen anything like this unseriousness,” he said.
The Prime Minister was asked about possible lobbying by Frontera Company. Irakli Kobakhidze noted that the Georgian government has no lobbying connections with the company.
