Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, held a meeting with the Speaker of the Albanian Parliament, Elisa Spiropali, on the sidelines of the 6th World Conference of Speakers of Parliament in Geneva.
Papuashvili congratulated Spiropali on her party’s recent electoral victory.
“The sides discussed the development of bilateral relations and underscored their shared objective of European Union membership, which forms a strong foundation for productive cooperation and dynamic exchange within the Balkan region.
Emphasis was placed on the importance of parliamentary diplomacy, with both speakers expressing readiness to deepen interparliamentary collaboration. They agreed to establish parliamentary friendship groups to further institutionalize cooperation.
Elisa Spiropali reaffirmed Albania’s strong support for Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations and extended an official invitation for Shalva Papuashvili to visit Albania,” reads the parliament’s press statement.
