Speaker: Foreigners, NGOs, and opposition sacrificed us to war and destruction three years ago

“Three years ago, we were all sacrificed to war and destruction — by foreigners, NGOs, and the opposition. The opposition and NGOs, driven by political corruption, arrogance, and obedience to foreign interests, put the country at risk,” wrote Shalva Papuashvili, Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, on social media.

“They do not understand what they are playing with or the risks they are taking,” Papuashvili stated.

According to him, such irresponsible individuals, who gamble with the fate of the country and its people, should not come to power.

“Foreigners prioritized their own short-term interests, nearly making us victims of a fundamentally flawed policy. The wisdom of our society and the strength of its government saved us — along with the people’s trust, historical memory, and the common sense of the majority. We must remember this whenever foreigners attempt to give us instructions, NGOs launch petitions, or the opposition seeks votes — they sacrificed us three years ago,” he wrote.
