“Amidst the attacks on the Georgian people and their government by the post-Soviet governments of the European Union, the question that 54% of voters answered is now being asked by all citizens – do we want to govern or do we want to be governed?” Shalva Papuashvili, the Georgian Parliament Speaker, wrote on social media and shared a video of his speech at a regional event of the Georgian Dream election campaign in Mtskheta, where the Speaker draws an equal sign between the October 26, 2024 elections and the March 31, 1991 referendum.
