President to SSSG employees on 10th Anniversary: You are reason Georgia is sovereign and secure
President of Georgia, Mikheil Kavelashvili, addressed employees of the State Security Service of Georgia (SSSG) on the agency’s 10th anniversary, thanking them for their “dedication” to ensuring the country’s sovereignty, safety, and stability.
“Congratulations on the 10th anniversary of the State Security Service. The fact that we live in a democratic, free, sovereign, and independent country today is thanks to your professionalism,” the President said during his speech at the official event.
Kavelashvili attended the ceremony alongside Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili, and other high-ranking officials from both the executive and legislative branches.
In his remarks, the President praised the SSSG for its “commitment and effective” actions in combatting corruption, terrorism, and attempted threats against the state.
“We have seen how highly your work is valued – from your fight against terrorism and corruption to your success in preventing attempted coups. You’ve shown a high level of professionalism, and that gives our citizens even greater confidence in the country’s future,” he noted.
The President also paid tribute to fallen SSSG officers who lost their lives in the line of duty: “There are heroes whose names may not be widely known, yet they serve with incredible professionalism. On behalf of the Georgian people, I sincerely thank each of you for keeping our country sovereign, protected, and safe.”
