Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili congratulated the Muslim community on Kurban Bayramı. He visited the Tbilisi Mosque on this festival.
He addressed the Muslims and focused on the significance of this celebration.
“Our motherland is proud of coexistence among peoples of different faiths for centuries. I always accentuate during the meetings that Georgia is one of the outstanding countries where people of different faiths have lived in friendship for centuries, supporting each other and living for one another,” he said.
The President extended gratitude to Muslim fellow citizens for support and sympathy expressed during the death of the late Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II.
Zaza Vashakmadze, Chairman of the State Agency for Religious Issues, Adam Shantadze, Mufti of Western Georgia, Etibar Eminov, Mufti of Eastern Georgia, Haji Faig Nabiev, Head of the Administration of All Muslims of Georgia and representatives of the Diplomatic Corps congratulated Muslims on Kurban Bayramı.
