MIA – All persons detained on administrative rule are released

Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) reported during the special briefing today that all persons detained on administrative rule during the special operation carried out at night clubs in Tbilisi last night have been released for the time being.

Three persons – White Noise movement leader Beka Tsikarishvili, an employee of Basiani Night Club Giorgi Chincharauli and British Citizen Mailo Travers – who were detained after the special operations carried out in night clubs last night, have been released.

The three people were detained on charge of petty hooliganism and resistance to the police. They were taken to Sagarejo pre-detention isolator.

According to Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), 8 drug dealers were detained in Basiani and Gallery night clubs last night.

“The Ministry of Internal Affairs had been conducting intensive operative-investigative activities for detecting drug trade in Basiani and Gallery night clubs for 12 months. On May 12, 2018, relevant investigative actions were conducted on the basis of a court order and 8 persons were detained,” reads the statement.
