MIA opens probe into alleged attack on journalist Gela Mtivlishvili
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia has launched an investigation into the reported attack on journalist Gela Mtivlishvili.
According to the ministry, the case is being investigated under Article 126 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which concerns violence.
Mtivlishvili stated on social media that he was attacked after leaving a live broadcast and that he suffered facial injuries as a result of the incident.
The journalist has accused Giorgi Margebadze, head of the Association of Small and Medium-Sized Hydropower Plants, of carrying out the attack. Margebadze has responded to the accusation with a Facebook post.
