35-year-old victim dies in traffic accident in Tbilisi

A 35-year-old man died in a traffic accident in Tbilisi’s Didube district earlier today.

According to eyewitnesses, a truck carrying steel reinforcement bars braked suddenly, causing the load to shift and fall onto the vehicle’s cabin. The driver sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.

The area has been cordoned off with police tape, while rescue and emergency medical teams are working at the scene.

An investigation has been launched under Article 276 of Georgia’s Criminal Code, which concerns violations of traffic safety or transport operation regulations.
