The 142nd meeting of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism is being held in Ergneti.
The meeting will address incidents along the dividing line, including illegal borderization and the detention of citizens.
Since the last meeting, the occupying regime has illegally detained seven Georgian citizens, three of whom have already been released.
Additionally, there have been six cases of so-called borderization in the Kareli and Gori municipalities, where Russian military personnel have installed iron posts, and, in some areas, surveillance cameras and barbed wire. Alongside security matters, the meeting will also address humanitarian concerns.
“The meeting will cover all incidents that occurred during the reporting period. Since the previous meeting, four cases of illegal detention have taken place, involving seven Georgian citizens, three of whom have been released. Illegal construction activities occurred in four sections near the Kareli and Gori municipalities. Negotiations are ongoing in all international formats to secure the release of the illegally detained Georgian citizens,” said Irakli Antadze, Deputy Director of the Analytical Department of the State Security Service.
