The Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs Vakhtang Gomelauri, along with First Deputy Minister Shalva Bedoidze, introduced the new head of the Tbilisi Police Department, Police Colonel Lasha Gogniashvili, to the department’s staff, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
Gogniashvili replaces Sulkhan Tamazashvili, who was officially appointed today as Chairman of the Supreme Council of Adjara. Until now, Lasha Gogniashvili served as Director of the Guria Police Department.
“He has many years of experience in leadership roles within the Ministry. The Minister reviewed departmental priorities, and assigned tasks, and emphasized crime prevention efforts and ongoing infrastructure projects aimed at improving police working conditions. He also thanked the department’s staff for their effective work,” the Ministry’s statement reads.
