Health Minister partakes in panel discussion within Economic Forum

‘Healthcare Policy in Georgia – Opportunities and Challenges’ was the theme of the 19th panel discussion held within the framework of the Economic Forum, with the participation of the Minister of Health, Mikheil Sarjveladze.

Participants discussed the potential integration of insurance companies into the healthcare system, as well as the opportunities and challenges facing the insurance sector.

Minister Mikheil Sarjveladze outlined ongoing healthcare reforms and future plans, emphasizing the importance of strengthening and developing healthcare services in Georgia. He highlighted primary healthcare reform, collaboration with the private sector to protect patient interests and the significance of the DRG (Diagnosis Related Groups) financing model. The discussion also addressed the possible introduction of co-payments for inpatient services under the State Universal Healthcare Program.

Sarjveladze noted that the forum serves as a platform for concrete solutions and innovative ideas.

The event was organized by the online media platform Business Insider Georgia and brought together representatives of the legislative and executive branches, international experts, and industry professionals.
