Health Minister visits Jo Ann University Hospital

Georgian Health Minister Mikheil Sarjveladze visited Jo Ann University Hospital, which expressed willingness to join a new state program to provide services for the treatment of rare diseases.

Alongside Deputy Minister Tea Giorgadze, Sarjveladze inspected medical equipment and toured diagnostics and ambulatory facilities.

The new component of the state program is designed for research and diagnostics of Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) and Becker muscular dystrophy (BMD).

The Minister and the Hospital Administration reviewed the needs of the beneficiaries and stressed the significance of successful monitoring and management of the program.

Mikheil Sarjveladze noted that the new component allows beneficiaries to receive a wide range of necessary services, which will make the process of their health monitoring more effective.
