GPB Dir/Gen Tinatin Berdzenishvili expects big celebrations as Georgia hosts 2023 UEFA European Under-21 Championship

The 2023 UEFA European Under-21 Championship commences tomorrow in Tbilisi. The Georgian national team will play its first match against the Portuguese national team.

Throughout the day, preparations are being made at Dedaena Park, where the European Under-21 Championship Cup, which has travelled throughout Georgia, will arrive at 9 p.m. Tbilisi time.

At the same time, the Georgian Public Broadcaster First Channel is holding a ticket raffle in Dedaena Park. If the attendees at Dedaena Park correctly answer the questions, they will win tickets to the game.

The GPB First Channel produced a music video for the 2023 UEFA European Under-21 Championship based on the themes of the Georgian feature film “The First Swallow.” The performers of the Ranina mega-show sing a fresh rendition of the folk song “Aba Ula.”

According to Tinatin Berdzenishvili, GPB Director General, this is the composition of which Georgia has always been proud, and it will now become a hallmark of this championship.

“This is the musical piece that we believe our country has always been proud of, and it will now become a hallmark of this championship. The kids put forth a lot of effort. So, first and foremost, thank you. Tomorrow, we will all be in the stadium, cheering on, and I believe we will win, and our nation will be a huge success. The 2023 UEFA European Under-21 Championship is very significant not just for our channel but also for Georgia as a nation. And, I believe we will have a big celebration,” Tinatin Berdzenishvili remarked.

The Georgian Public Broadcaster First Channel will broadcast the 2023 UEFA European Under-21 Championship.
