PM says visa liberalization entry in EP resolution is just as not worth a penny, as LGBT propaganda, Saakashvili release entries

“As for the entry on visa liberalization, which was enclosed in this resolution, it is just as worth a penny as the entry on the prohibition of LGBT propaganda and the release of Saakashvili. All this has no value,” Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told reporters, answering a question regarding the European Parliament resolution on the resubmission of the Transparency of Foreign Influence bill in Georgia.

According to the Head of Government, visa liberalization is an achievement of the government and the Georgian people.

“Visa liberalization is an achievement of the government and the Georgian people. Instead of speaking to the authorities and the Georgian people in such a blackmail language, on the contrary, for example, the United States should try to introduce a visa-free regime with Georgia. It is the responsibility of our partners, and not for anyone to speak to the Georgian people in the language of blackmail. The language of blackmail does not work for Georgian people, as apparently demonstrated in 2022 and is very clearly visible now. Requests from friends related to opacity, i.e. not ensuring the key European value in our country, the request for the green light for LGBT propaganda, the release of Saakashvili, the request for the punishment of Bidzina Ivanishvili, of course, do not have any value. These are not requests from friends, but requests from odious members of the European Parliament and their supporters, which we cannot take into account since they are based on completely non-European values.

Therefore, these so-called requests, but in fact attempts at blackmail, have value neither for us nor Georgian society,” the Prime Minister said.
