“Drawing on the examples of the elections in Hungary and Serbia, it has always been clear to us that elections are the only correct way to change the government,” said Giga Parulava, a member of the Gakharia for Georgia party.

According to Parulava, one year ago, Gakharia for Georgia urged parties, which today speak about Hungary and Serbia cases, to participate in the elections.

“Boycotting elections was incorrect. Regrettably, some opposition parties and political leaders chose to pursue a different path through which they harmed the country and political processes. They have harmed the interests of our citizens and the state. It is nothing new to us that specific regimes characterized by one-party rule can be changed through elections, as it happened in Serbia and Hungary.

This change requires correct and pragmatic agenda, often lacked by oppositional parties and politicians. The October 4 provocational revolutionary scenarios can confirm this, when they misled society and convinced people that they could change the government through revolutionary scenarios. They called on them not to participate in elections,” he said.
