Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili has met with Qatari Ambassador to Georgia, Hassan Ahmed Ali Mohamed Al Mutawa.
At the introductory meeting, the parties discussed the friendly and partnership relations between their countries, as well as prospects for deepening cooperation across various sectors.
Kavelashvili noted that Georgia welcomes the decision to begin negotiations on a free trade agreement between Georgia and Qatar.
The President believes that establishing a free trade regime between the two countries will open new opportunities for promoting and developing various industries, both in Georgia and in Gulf states, the president’s press office said.
For his part, Qatari Ambassador congratulated Mikheil Kavelashvili on his election as President and confirmed his readiness for active cooperation.
