The Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of Georgia, Irakli Chikovani, has held a meeting in Paris with his French counterpart, Catherine Vautrin.
The Georgian Ministry of Defence reported that Irakli Chikovani thanked his host for the invitation, underscoring the critical value of bilateral cooperation amid a challenging global security climate.
“The Minister of Defence of Georgia expressed his profound gratitude for France’s unwavering support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia.
During the meeting, the counterparts reviewed the fruitful defence cooperation between the two nations, notably in mountain warfare, education, and air defence, and discussed prospects for collaboration.
The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Chief of the Georgian Defence Forces and Chief of the General Staff, Major General Joni Tatunashvili; the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the French Republic, Irakli Kurashvili; Military Attaché Colonel Malkhaz Merlani; and Colonel Vasil Kopeikini,” the Georgian Ministry of Defence stated.
