Georgian PM hosts Armenia's Interior Minister

Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia, met Arpine Sargsyan, Minister of Interior of the Republic of Armenia, who is on an official visit to Georgia.

According to the government’s press office, the meeting focused on the friendly and good neighborly relations between Georgia and Armenia, as well as the close and effective cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of the two countries.

“The importance of lasting peace in the South Caucasus was particularly emphasized. In this context, the conclusion of negotiations on a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan was positively assessed, and hope was expressed that the agreement would be signed shortly.

The Prime Minister once again reaffirmed the readiness of the Government of Georgia to continue supporting dialogue and contributing to the establishment of peace and stability in the region.

The meeting was also attended by Geka Geladze, Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia,” reads the statement.
