Georgian FM meets Armenian colleague as part of OSCE Ministerial Council
Georgia’s Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili met with Armenia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ararat Mirzoyan, as part of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Malta.
According to the ministry’s press office, the Armenian Foreign Minister congratulated his Georgian counterpart on her appointment and wished her success in her new role.
“During the meeting, the parties reviewed the friendly relations and avenues for bilateral cooperation between Georgia and Armenia. Particular attention was devoted to the areas of economic and trade cooperation, alongside the region’s transit potential. The discussion also highlighted and positively appraised the cooperative efforts in culture, education, and people-to-people exchanges
Special attention was given to the importance of the Declaration on Strategic Partnership between Georgia and Armenia, signed earlier in 2024, as a significant step in further strengthening bilateral relations.
The positive dynamics of high-level visits between the two countries were also highlighted.
The discussion underscored the importance of promoting peace and stability in the region.
Maka Botchorishvili expressed gratitude to her Armenian counterpart for Armenia’s steadfast support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
