MFA: During meeting with Ukrainian FM, Minister Botchorishvili highlighted steps taken by Ukrainian authorities hindering normalization of relations

The Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) released official information on the meeting between Foreign Minister and Vice Prime Minister Maka Botchorishvili and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andrii Sybiha.

The meeting was held during the 135th Session of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe in Chişinău, Moldova.

According to the MFA, the Georgian side highlighted the challenges in Georgian-Ukrainian relations, the steps taken by the Ukrainian authorities in recent years, and the stances that hinder the normalization of relations between the countries.

“The meeting was a follow-up to recent communications between representatives of the Ukrainian and Georgian governments.

The communication touched on Georgia’s consistent political and humanitarian support for Ukraine. The FM highlighted the challenges in Georgian-Ukrainian relations, the steps taken by the Ukrainian authorities in recent years, and the stances that hinder the normalization of relations between the countries. The sides confirmed their readiness to continue dialogue and the significance of restoring diplomatic relations,” the Ministry said.
