Georgian FM: Correct step that Parliament considers response to 'the MEGOBARI Act'

Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili has welcomed the Georgian Parliament’s statement condemning the Mobilising and Enhancing Georgia’s Options for Building Accountability, Resilience, and Independence Act or the MEGOBARI Act, with an overwhelming 87 votes in favour and no opposition.

“It is a logical and correct step that the Georgian Parliament is considering a response to the ‘the MEGOBARI Act’ passed by Congress,” Botchorishvili told reporters on Wednesday.

The Georgian Parliament “strongly condemned” the U.S. House of Representatives’ adoption of ‘the so-called MEGOBARI Act,’ which they view as “fundamentally flawed, biased, and hostile” toward Georgia.
