The rate of face mask wearing reduced from 75 to 43% in Georgia, said Amiran Gamkrelidze, Head of the National Center for Diseases Control and Public Health (NCDC).
The NCDC Head reported during a press briefing at the Governmental Administration following the Interagency Coordination Council meeting that the rate is measured together with the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME).
According to Amiran Gamkrelidze, the rate is alarming amid easing Covid-19 related restrictions that could lead to worsening of the epidemiological situation in the country.
“I call on everybody to wear face masks and observe social distancing rule especially when restaurants and hospitality institutions are opening. Avoid public gathering places and feasts,” Gamkrelidze stated.
