Deputy Tbilisi Mayor: Some experts spread misinformation about landslide processes

It is unfortunate that some experts are deliberately spreading incorrect information aimed to misinform the public and generate panic among the population, said Irakli Bendeliani, Deputy Tbilisi Mayor. He echoed the landslide processes on a slope near Machavariani Street.

According to Bendeliani, a special group is carrying out 24-hour monitoring on the territory. Foreign specialists are expected to arrive next week to study the situation.

“We heard another statement, as if Tbilisi City Hall does not allow independent experts to work at the scene. I declare with full responsibility that both the monitoring and the research work have not stopped for a minute, the special working group consisting of high-ranking specialists work continuously. Access of outsiders to the site is limited due to security measures,” Bendeliani said.

Landslide processes activated on Machavariani Street and nearby slopes in the Georgian capital Tbilisi.
