Deputy FM: President’s first official trip to Azerbaijan underscores strong ties
“Azerbaijan is a key neighbour and strategic partner for Georgia”, said First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Lasha Darsalia.
He emphasized that the fact President’s first official visit is being made to Azerbaijan highlights the strong partnership between the two countries.
According to Darsalia, during the Georgian President’s visit to Azerbaijan, meetings will be held with the President and other high-level officials to discuss issues of bilateral cooperation.
“We will address the key areas that form the foundation of our strategic partnership. Around 30 years ago, when our modern republics began their path to independence, our region was already positioned as a bridge between East and West—a role that is even more relevant today. The central corridor, or the ‘Middle Corridor’ as it is now commonly referred to, is gaining increasing importance for many of our partners. Naturally, this will be one of the key topics of discussion between Azerbaijan and Georgia,” Darsalia noted.
Mikheil Kavelashvili’s official visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan began today.
