SSSG Head pays official visit to Azerbaijan

Geka Geladze, Head of the State Security Service of Georgia (SSSG), accompanied by a delegation, has embarked on an official visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan.

According to the State Security Service of Georgia (SSSG), during the visit, Geka Geladze met with his Azerbaijani counterpart, Ali Naghiyev.

“During the meeting, the officials discussed the strategic partnership between Georgia and Azerbaijan, current developments in the South Caucasus region, and the contemporary security challenges facing the international community. They emphasised the importance of close cooperation and of deepening the partnership between the security services of both countries to address these growing global threats.

The discussion also covered the upcoming Security Forum in Baku, scheduled for September 2026, which plays a significant role in strengthening regional and international cooperation.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Geka Geladze expressed his gratitude to his Azerbaijani counterpart for the warm hospitality and extended an invitation for a reciprocal visit to Georgia.

In addition to the Head of Georgia’s State Security Service, his deputies, Tamaz Borashvili and Aleksandre Maisuradze, were also present in Azerbaijan,” the statement read.
