President attends funeral ceremony for missing persons repatriated from Abkhazia

The Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili attended a civil funeral ceremony for individuals who went missing during the 1990s armed conflicts in the occupied Abkhazia region of Georgia and were recently repatriated after identification.

The ceremony was held at the Holy Trinity Cathedral of Tbilisi, where the President paid tribute to the deceased and offered condolences to their family members.

According to officials, 11 identified individuals were returned, including two military personnel and nine civilians. Based on family decisions, they will be buried with proper honors in various regions of Georgia, at their ancestral cemeteries.
