Archil Talakvadze: If COVID-19 cases continue to shrink, we can speed up removal of restrictions

“If the number of people contracted coronavirus shrinks, it will be a solid basis for speeding up the process of removing restrictions,” the Chair of Georgian Parliament, Archil Talakvadze stated at today’s sitting of the bureau.

“It is good that with the support of doctors, health professionals, our society, the coordinated work of the government, the number of new COVID-19 cases is less than the number of recovered patients. If this trend continues, we can accelerate the removal of restrictions,” Archil Talakvadze stressed.

The Chair of the Georgian Parliament added that “Georgia was able to contain COVID-19 pandemic. The initial measures were timely. The infection was managed very effectively.”

As of today, Georgia’s COVID-19 cases stand at 647. According to the latest figures, the number of recovered patients has reached 372 as yet. 11 patients died from the virus.
