Amiran Gamkrelidze: Wearing a face mask on public transport will be mandatory
Amiran Gamkrelidze, the Head of National Center for Disease Control and Public Health (NCDC), said: “wearing a face mask on public transport will be mandatory.”
Gamkrelidze does not rule out that “if a passenger does not follow the safety rules introduced by the Ministry of Health (MOH), he/she won’t be allowed to travel on public transport.” He noted that this issue will be monitored.
The Head of NCDC added that “wearing face masks will become part of our life for a while and we should adjust to it.”
Municipal transport of all types, including the underground, will resume operation from May 29 and it will happen only by complying with concrete rules, according to the government.
