SSG to report about plotted disorder for November 6 rally

State Security Service of Georgia (SSG) reported about plotted disorder and destabilization for November 6 rally.

Bacha Mgeladze, SSG Deputy Head of Counterterrorism Center said during the news briefing that organizers of the protest planned to block state institutions, including parliament and Governmental Administration, roads at N12 Rustavi Prison and the possibility to kill one of the opposition leaders.

“These actions, aimed at the violent overthrow of the government, are planned by the convicted Mikheil Saakashvili, who gives instructions to the leaders of various opposition parties who visit him at the penitentiary facility. The State Security Service, in accordance with the law, will take measures to prevent and aver the crime. The criminals will be held strictly accountable by the law,” said Bacha Mgeladze.

On November 5, the United National Movement (UNM) Chair Nika Melia pressed for action as Georgia’s former president Mikheil Saakashvili’s “vital signs are deteriorating.” He called on supporters to attend Saturday’s rally at the N12 Rustavi Prison.
