SSG conducts multiple counter-terrorism operations, two suspects arrested

As part of ongoing counter-terrorism operations, the State Security Service of Georgia (SSG) conducted several simultaneous special operations countrywide, resulting from operational activities and investigations.

According to the State Security Service, the operations led to the arrest of two Georgian citizens. Investigators seized significant evidence from their residences, including combat materials, various electronic devices, cash, and other items of investigative importance.

“Various pieces of evidence suggesting possible links to an international terrorist organization were also seized from the suspects’ residences. The investigation is being carried out under Article 328 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which addresses joining a foreign terrorist organization and providing assistance to terrorist activities. The Counter-Terrorism Center of the State Security Service is leading the investigation,” the statement from the State Security Service reads.
