President informs int’l community on prohibition of Georgia-produced Medicines in occupied Tskhinvali

The President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili has informed Director-General of World Health Organisation, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, and the Commissioner of CoE for Human Rights in the occupied territories of Georgia on prohibition of Georgia-produced Medicines in occupied Tskhinvali, President’s press office released the statement.

“Closing the so-called border and imposing ban on medicines restrict fundamental human rights, including the right to health, the right to life and the right to movement,” the statement reads.

Georgian President’s press office added that Salome Zurabishvili has called on the Commissioners to focus on the situation in the occupied territories of Georgia and to react through all possible means to these violations of humanitarian principles.

Earlier this week, medicines with annotation in the Georgian language have been banned from the  pharmacies in the Russian-occupied Tskhinvali (South Ossetia).

The seized medicines include Voltaren, Flu Cold, Crestor, Hemoral, Tolarin Plus, and more.
