A Georgian citizen illegally detained near the occupied village of Tsinagara on January 21 has been released. The State Security Service of Georgia (SSSG) has circulated this update.

According to the agency, the illegally detained Georgian citizen is now in territory controlled by the central government.

“The Georgian citizen who was illegally detained on January 21 of this year near the occupied village of Tsinagara has been released and is now in territory controlled by the central government.

The State Security Service extends its gratitude to all parties involved in the process for taking into account the detainee’s condition and best interests, and for their swift response.
Georgia’s central government and the State Security Service continue to work actively towards the release of all Georgian citizens held in illegal detention in the occupied territories,” the State Security Service stated.
