Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia said during the sitting of Cabinet of Minister that the world had scarce knowledge about the novel coronavirus at the initial stage. The primary goal of Georgia was to stop the rapid spread of the virus and the country managed to cope with the challenge well.
According to PM, the increased cases in the country, especially in Adjara region, is the result of increased mobility and was prognosticated in summer. The increase of cases was expected and Georgia was preparing for that.
“Georgia had scarce resources and we had to win the time that we did effectively. We managed to save lives of many people. This is recognized internationally. Georgia still remains to be a Green Country,” Gakharia said.
