EU Ambassador: MEPs messages need to be taken seriously

MEPs messages need to be taken seriously, the EU Ambassador to Georgia Carl Hartzell told journalists.

EU Ambassador echoed a joint statement made by MEPs, which reads of the European Parliament members regret that Georgia’s political leaders did not agree to EU mediator Christian Danielsson’s proposal and announces consequences in terms of EU-Georgia relations.

“Referring to the statement made yesterday by members of the European parliament, well, very shortly, just to say that I cannot speak on behalf of the European Parliament nor of individual members.

I just like to say that, of course, there are some clear messages coming out. And it’s noteworthy that the signatories of this statement are key European Parliamentarians that have different roles when it comes to EU-Georgia relations. So it’s to say that these messages need to be taken seriously,” Carl Hartzell said.
