Amiran Gamkrelidze says COVID-19 vaccine production is in final phase

The production of the coronavirus vaccine is in a final phase and it could be approved in the late fall, said Amiran Gamkrelidze, the Head of the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC).

Georgian government, Health Ministry, NCDC have been actively negotiating to obtain vaccine, added Gamkrelidze after the meeting of the Coordination Council.

Georgia has reported seven new cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) today, bringing the total number of infected people to 1 436, according to stopcov.ge.

The number of recovered patients stands at 1150.
