Truck driver in Kakheti tests positive for COVID-19

One of the recent coronaviruses cases detected in Kakheti.

As Marieta Gonashvili, head of Public Healthcare Office of the Dedoplistskaro District said, the person who contracted the virus is a truck driver. He arrived from Russia. As reported, he experienced coronavirus-related symptoms while self-isolating.

Public Healthcare Office of the Dedoplistskaro District noted that all contacts of this patient have already identified and their tests have been sent to Lugar Lab. The results will be known soon.

26 new cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) confirmed in Georgia today, bringing the total number of infected persons to 783.

Five patients recovered. In total, 605 patients cured so far. Three persons are brought from abroad for medical treatment. 12 patients died from the virus.

Currently, 3031 people remain under quarantine, and 262– inpatient care.
