Tbilisi Mayor: British sanctions continued form of blackmail against Georgian gov't

Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze believes that the sanctioning of four Georgian high-ranking officials, including the Prosecutor General of Georgia, by the UK government “indicates a continuation of blackmail against the Georgian government.”

“The blackmail and threats continue as usual. We act simply, we protect our own country and our own people, we don’t allow anyone to dominate our country, to use Georgia’s interests to pursue the interests of various big countries and thereby trample the interests of our country. That’s exactly why they are irritated, but as long as ‘Georgian Dream’ is in power, we will always defend the country’s independence and strengthen Georgia’s sovereignty,” Kaladze added.
