Tbilisi Mayor: Certain group fights against Georgian statehood and its gov't because they failed to bring their agents to power

“Certain group is persistently fighting against Georgian statehood and the current government because they lost the elections and failed to bring their preferred agents to power,” Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze responded to a question regarding the European Parliament resolution.

According to him, Georgia continues to develop and advance on its path toward European integration.

“Georgia continues to develop and advance on its path toward European integration. However, there are obstacles—statements and actions based entirely on lies and blackmail. Despite this, many see the reality: elections in Georgia were conducted freely, with all political parties having the opportunity to campaign. We have freedom of speech and expression. At the same time, no one—regardless of status—has the right to assault a police officer. Whether a politician, journalist, or businessman, everyone is equal before the law,” said Kaladze.
